Organic candle range packaging design for Oliver Bonas SS20 season. It combines the vision and values of Oliver Bonas, the sustainability of Fedrigoni paper and the playfulness of summer days.
Focusing on the key words “organic” and “natural materials”, I developed a packaging design that is sustainable, modern and born out of nature itself. Inspired by my grandma’s garden, I used fruit and veg to create block prints matching the scent of each candle.
These prints were then arranged in a pattern on a Fedrigoni paper box layout that does not require glue to assemble and can be recycled easily, to reflect the focus on sustainability of both OB and Fedrigoni. This is also echoed in the pillar candles I chose, simple in their design and ingredients.
Candles are often used as an aid for relaxing and creating a soothing atmosphere. To help with that, every candle comes with a small matchbook, inviting the customer to turn the act of lighting their candle into a mindfulness ritual and a daily reminder to be present. A short quote on the inside of each matchbook will help convey a sense of joy and serenity.
